Hi everyone, I don't how many of you all read or look @ GQ Magazine, but I was in the babershop today flipping through the May 2003 issue and there was a very nice Defender 90 (Black) in an ad for Ralph Lauren Polo Spring collection of clothing. I'm guessing the new line of clothing is along the line of "Safari Look", therefore the placement of the D-90 in the ad. It may belong to Ralph Lauren, or it may not, but if any of you are in the Grocery Store(Supermarket), or anywhere there is a GQ magazine take a look. Page 62 of the magazine... I liked it and it didn't look like a poseur D-90- | ||

Ralph Lauren is a Rover fanatic. He has asked LR several times to make a ralph lauren edition land rover. Some of his Defenders are really awesome. | ||

What type/size of lift does that D90 have? It looks like it has those fox shocks? It's nice. | ||

Finally, that truck is mine, i didnt think that the pics would ever come out. Ralphs agent took the truck to miami to use in a photo shoot back in October. You can get detailed information on the d-90 source, in the owner bios. The pictures were taken a month before the SG bumper setup. martin | ||

Not as cool as seeing a semi-nude female model in a magazine clothing advertisement, but the feeling was comparable. Very nice D-90. Did you get a check for modeling your truck, or did you receive free Polo gear? Just think of all the traffic and free advertisement discoweb would have gotten if you had a BIG discoweb sticker plastered on the side of your D-90. Enough of my babble, I thought it was a cool photo, and you are very fortunate to have an opportunity like that. Maybe your 90 will get used over and over and over again. You can now get personalized tags that read GQMAG62. | ||

they used the truck in a couple of other ads relating to the spring/summer ralph lauren collection. I did get a check for the use of the defender. No gear. I have spoken to the agent on a few other projects. You may see it again. cheers martin | ||

there is an ad on Polo.com but you cant see much of the truck just some "model". | ||
