Man oh Man, I just got back from the Car wash which happens to be $10 richer in quarters. The Uwharrie Event this weekend was great. The scattered thunderstorms made those trails much more interesting than last year. MT's and MTR's was the key to climbing in and out of those muddy ruts and rises.

MaryAnne and CROC, Great job getting things together at last minute in order for this event to turn out to be a great time. The Pig was great way to wrap up a day of mud fun.

Luke and RCH, thanks for setting up that maintenance tent. It only took 1.5 hours to rip out that SLS stuff out of Jason's truck and install the Blue Monsters.

Dave from Thatched roof, What was the name of that Scotch again? Man that was damn smooooth! It was great meeting and riding with all those folks from Tennesee. Now I can't wait until SAE to do it again.

Man, hope everyone enjoyed themselves. I lost a brake line on Thursday night and couldn't get ahold of one until Saturday. Been planning on the Uwharrie "mud" safari for a couple months now but apparently not prepared for the unexpected quite enough. I do have a spare brake line in the back of the rover now just in case. Please share any and all photos.. I guess I'll be seeing some of you at SAE or MAR next time around. Later.. RS

I have yet to wash all the mud off my Disco. It looks too cool! The Safari was great fun. Everyone was really nice and the trails were certainly exciting. My stock Disco handled them pretty well all things considered. I did get a chance to try out the front and rear D-rings... Thanks to the guys in the D-90 for helping me out of a real jamb! Good times!
David
P.S. I will let you guys know as soon as I have pics posted on www.valiantracing.com

We wondered where you were RS, kept expecting you to roll in.... hate that you didn't make it....

Paul, I appreciate the tug off the berm that you and Adam set up, otherwise the wife would still have been trying to stack rocks (I explained to her that it just wasn't a rock-stacking situation, lol...) Hate to hear that they had so much trouble on that one after I got on down from there... I do, however, think I remember where that other D1 must've taken out his steering... gotta admit, I think the wife did a smoother job driving up than I did back down Falls Dam...

$4 in quarters got the chunky stuff out, but, it's still not a "clean" Rover....

Yea I had a pretty much stock Rover also. Man oh Man slipping and sliding. I am so glad I invested in a set of Jate rings also. It was so good to meet everyone and to put faces with some names.

$13 in quarters for me. Once again, I didn't get to wheel with many of you from this forum, but what fun it was. My Swampers were at home in the muck. I ran Rocky Mountain in the AM and then Daniel after lunch. Then we headed out after the raffle.

Jason, Glad the blue monsters worked, and the plates are on the way.
Greg, the Swampers looked tough.
Leslie, Did Laura drive the Disco to work muddy?
Robert, Jeff had extra brake lines in his truck. Sorry you missed it.

This was my first time to Uwharrie in the mud and it definitely took on a whole new persona. The capabilities of these vehicles never cease to amaze me as it was a veritable "slip-n-slide" on many of the trails..wooo-hoooo!

We met several great people and had a blast on the trails, but on a down note I have to voice my disappointment by the total lack of responsibility and very poor trail etiquette that I witnessed first hand by some of the "official organizers".

Nope! Before we made it home even, she made me stop at the car-wash and get the chunks off. I thought I had, but, as I backed the Roo down the driveway on my way to work this morning, I noticed that there was a fist-sized clod sitting under her Disco.... too bad that pic above doesn't show but a corner of her red Disco....

Anyway, how'd Jeff's truck do on to the shop? IS it limping along okay?

Jeff is driving around in front wheel drive with no problems, we will swap the diff and weld up the housing Tuesday evening.

Down there in the mud what was the "better" tire to have?

Jason, glad I could help. I knew as soon as I saw it on the trail that it was from a DII. Those things come off way too easy. I know, I lost some at MAR.

Hey Max, got to break in the winch right on Saturday. Ran Rocky Mt in the morning and Daniel in the afternoon. Definitely a good time on those trails.
