'99 DII with 99k miles - these three lights come on in unison for no apparent reason if you restart the car they go away for a few seconds and sometimes even a few days - do you guys think its an abs wheel speed sensor or something else? I just got it back from the dealer 2 days ago so i really don't feel like going back again already! |

Thanks Greg. Do you think it is possible to just try cleaning them or do they just have to be replaced? Is there anyway to tell which one (i assume there are 4 of them)? How much do them cost? Thanks for the help. |

As far as I know, only the Testbook will tell you whick sensor is bad. Problem is, it's a "non-serviceable" part. That means the entire hub assy will have to be replaced. You may be able to find a sensor from a wrecked vehicle, but you're gambling with that. Not what you wanted to hear. Sorry. Inspect them first though. I had one go bad, and it turned out the lead was pinched and had severed one of the wires. I cut out that section, soldered everything back together,a nd had the dealer reset the lights. All has been good since. |

Thanks again, your right, that's not what i wanted to hear. The lights have been coming on and off for the last few months. I just had the front right hub replaced last week - it was somewhere north of $500! |

Frank, was the hub replaced by the dealer? If so, take it in and have them see if that's the problem. Shouldn't be any charge for the testbook if they just performed that work. Supposedly there was a bad batch of sensors out there and your hub may have one of them. At least that way you'll know which sensor is causing the faults. |

Hey Greg, what did you use to extend your ABS sensors? |

I used a set of original ABS lines from a wrecked donor. I cut the lines about 4" above and below the connectors, took them apart, and soldered the ends together. Then, I just plugged this extension into the factory lines. |
