Other than the dealer, does anyone know of reputable service centers in the Charlotte, NC area? Just looking for alternatives...

Thanks,
Dan

Hey Dan,

I haven't found one. I haven't really looked that hard either. I have been able to do just about everything I needed with the help of everyone on this site.

The workshop manual helps too.

Hey,
I'm in Charlotte too and one good shop you could check MBV. It means Mercedes BMW Volvo. Those guys are great. If you need any body work done go to Body Works Plus. I work there, but I was a very satisfied customer 4 times over before I started working there. I'll make sure your stuff gets done right and that you won't get ripped off.

Do you know if MBV services any LR's? You seen any around their garage, etc.? Thanks for the rec. I may give them a call.

I live in S. Charlotte and generally work on my '97 D1 myself. However, I used to take it to a place called CAMS. It stands for Carolina Automotive and Marine Service (I think). I have friends who have Lexus', BMWs, etc and used to take them there. However, I have not taken mine there in a while because 1) I now do the work myself and I enjoy it, and 2) The last time I attempted to take my Rover to CAMS, the owner was going through a divorce and seemed VERY edgy so I just backed away slowly, got back in my D1, and left.

Yes, MBV does service rovers I believe. I was there picking up a BMW the other day and there was what I believe was a Series IIa there.

Also we (Body Works Plus) will start doing mechanical work very soon, as an old friend of the owner is coming to work here after just moving here. He is an ASE-Certified Master Mechanic, which is the highest obtainable level. I've never seen something this guy couldn't fix or get to the bottom of. Our number is 704-332-4404 and ask for Brian (the owner).

Do you know of anyone in the mtns of NC (Boone, etc) who can do LR work well. The nearest dealer is in Asheville (2+ hours away!)
Cheers
