I have a 97 Disco that for the last year has a re-occurring problem that the Dealer cant fix. We will be driving the Disco and for no reason the engine will start to have problems some thing like hitting the rev limiter the Speado to swing form 65 to Zero and back again a couple of times but the rev counter will not change, the dealer has no idea why this is still happening. Does anyone have any idea what it might be? Thanks |

That is what it sounds like. Happened to my 97 as well. At highway speeds it would stutter and lose power then just come back to normal. I bought a new VSS from Nathan at Discount Rovers and installed it myself. Haven't had the problem since. When I removed the old one it came apart in my hands..definitely broken. There is a great link in the Tech section with pictures and instructions on how to install. (Thanks Thom!) |
