I want to fit the 235/85/16 Dunlop Radial Rovers that are on my SIIa now onto my '94 disco. Would I still have to trim the rear fender for the fit if I installed spring spacers? If this would prevent me from having to trim the aluminum, what size spacer should I look into (1.5", 2", etc.)? My stock springs are still very good... no sag.

Thanks,
EM

Ethan, I installed OME springs and shocks on my '97XD, gained about 2" lift. Then installed 235/86/16 Txrus. I had to do a slight adjustment on my wheel stops, only about a half a turn. Still haven't checked out flex, but may need to trim just a little on rear fenders for max flex.

Hi Paul...that lift and those tyres look just what I want. Can you tell me what number OME's they are, and how have you found the handling with the lift (any castor probs or vibrations)
Thanx
Gary

Gary,
OME 762's on the rear and 751's (I think) on the front. Nathan at Pangaea Expeditions was a great help. Handling has actually improved over the tired stock suspension and stock Michelins. I get a little vibration when brakes are applied, but I need to redo that system, think its more in the brakes than the changes that were made.
Good luck

Ethan,

I have the same 97XD with OME HD springs (2" lift) and 235/85/16 Goodyear MTR's. I had to trim off about an inch of the rear quarter panel. if you plan to flex the rear at all, I believe you will need to trim.

you can see a photo of my rear flexing in my gallery, the tire on the down side is rubbing quite a bit before trimming.
