New problem.... My ABS light has gone on-permanently and ABS is not functioning at all. It may be a sensor....I am not sure... Is there any way to check??? Is there an easy way to fix or clean? Will this work? Do I need to spend the $250/sensor????? Thank you in advance. JP |

That is an eminently searchable topic. One that has brought me nothing but frustration, since I have done everything, yet the light keeps staring at me, almost taunting me.... |

I have searched the topic and the threads seem to result in wether ABS or NoN-ABS is better and how you should disable it..... I just want to fix it... I am wondering how I can troubleshoot to find if it is a sensor or something worse. Also, I am having some squealing from the left front wheel when at highway speed and steering to the left... caliper??? ABS related???? |

I had this problem, the mechanic said not to worry unless the ABS starts kicking in uneccesarily... it started acting up so eventually I changed it, |

I would take it to the dealer personally, that way they can run a diagnostic and tell you exaclty which sensor has gone bad, it's relatively cheep and it will keep you from pulling the wrong sensor, plus the diagnostic will also tell you if there is something else wrong with the ABS. In order to disable it you can pull the fuse inside the hood, the one labeled ABS (5) I think. |

Also, if the light is getting on your nerves, take it off, this is also an easy procedure, there are two screws right under the speedometer plastic cover, take them off, disconnect all connections and mark them properly, there are additional four screws holding the speedometer display in place, take them off, slide the unit up and out and remove the bulb for the ABS. Quick fix for the light, that is until you get the system fixed |
