Sorry about the word sex being in the subject heading, I wanted to make sure this topic didn't get overlooked.
During the blizzard in February I lost a rear mudflap. When I finally noticed it about four weeks later, I reached under the rear queater panal and yanked the other one off. Now I want to remove the brackets in order to remove the part that is attached, and refit more rear mudflaps, and I need to cut the locking "nuts" that keep the mudflaps on the bracket.
Can any of you offer another method other than a sawzall. I tried a sawzall, Black and Decker drill with a metal cutting blade, and it aint working. I am probably doing this the most dangerous way possible by sitting behind the rear wheels and laying under the truck trying to saw off those "old style locking nuts", while my wife is screaming about the life insurance policy.
I wanted to do this without bothering Trevor and LEON over at TMS LTD (shameless cry for help from the two of you).
Anyone with some pointers and info. Yeah I know, I tried searching the archives but had no luck and I am too lazy to do all that re-reading of old posts.

What do I need to saw those boltheads off with, how long should I expect this to take, and to Trevor and LEON, how much would it cost me to get this done at TMS LTD?

took me all of 1-2 min. to cut the heads off with a Dremel tool. just cut between the bracket and the end of the bolt that faces towards the back of the truck.
just make sure you are using a beefy enough cutting disk.
no magic to it.

On my old range rover I also used a dremel tool. Quick and easy.

I found that you can use double cutting discs to get more life before they break.

I used a hacksaw but it took a little time.
