Can someone please confirm some differences between say, Warn locking hubs for the front and rear and ARB air lockers? My 92' might need some more traction and I am not sure what install. Some info on differences, pros, and cons would be great... Thanks. |

Man two totally different animals.... Locking hubs do just that lock the hubs, with the full time 4wd of your rangie though the hubs are always locked as it is the only reason you would install Warn locking hubs would be to unlock them to save wear on you driveline say if you were going to tow it or something. Locking differentials are what you need if you want traction, now you need to decide between ARB and Detroit/Tru Trac |

hubs harness the power sent from the diffs. lockers are in the diffs, they make sure that power goes to each wheel |

I spent hours reading about this sort of stuff. To save you alot of reading go for arb lockers front n rear. These tend to be more pricey than the others but let me tell you they are the buisness. Next question/debate is 10 spline or 24. I live in the uk. We have an abundance of 10 spline doner vehicles around with driveshafts going real cheap. They say the 24 spline shafts are much stronger. My opinion is they are much the same. I have 24 spline in my disco and 10 spline in my rangie. I have broken both. I must admit i was being a little harsh when they broke. (both cars). |
