Hi Tony Thinks this would depend on tyre type, and manufacturer, what are you trying to achieve? Pete S |

I just want a thicker tire and one with a lower profile, I read that this provides better corner abilities on road and makes the car a bit more stable??? My problem is that tires I can find, but rims with the right five hole pattern are almost impossible to find, I've looked into a couple of shops and I can have them custome made but that cost a lot of extra $$. |

in the tech section at the top of the page is a listing for "tires and wheels" that gives tire sizes and how well they fit on discos. |

Tony, if I'm not mistaken, the DI wheel is 7" wide, whereas the DII is 8". If you use a DII size tire, it may "crown" because of the narrower wheel. This would cause premature wear, and is much more obvious on a street type tire as opposed to an off-road tire, becasue street tires typically have a very flat tread cross section. |

Tony, you can easily use 10.5"-wide tire (255mm) on a 7" rim. No problem with wear, you can adjust the tire pressure to achieve the flat contact patch on the ground. Give your rims some chrome or gold, and enjoy the ghetto ride! peter |
