So I have the bonnet up this afternoon while doing a vehicle walk-around, checking oil, lights and what-not. All lights were working. Then, I shut the bonnet and drove 2 miles to a buddys house. When I got there, the running lights on the RIGHT SIDE ONLY were operational?? WTF? The left headlight works but the left daytime running light, left side marker and left rear taillight are all out! Right side is all good. Left side has a good ground and I can't detect a short. I don't have a shop manual yet so if anyone could lend some insight as to why the hell only the left side would go out, it'd much appreciated. |

You probably have a bad connection, Electrical components on Land Rover products are not the best to say the least. Unplug the wires and check for dust or dirt, this can sometimes cause it to malfunction, also wiggle the cables a bit when its connected if you see the ligths come on when you wiggle the cables that means you probably have a bad connection. I suggest replacing the cable or just making sure that all wires are in contact with the metal pieces. |

Thanks Tony. But what I'm looking for is if someone can tell me if the left and right parking/daytime lights are on a seperate circuit. And if so, are they fused seperately? I know this sounds pretty far fetched but nothing surprises me anymore.. |

And if they're wired in series, what's the order? |

I think european cars have left and right specific parking lights and when parked you turn on the lights on the road side. Interesting, but I don't think it helps your situation any. |

jason they are fused seperately. least on D1's they are. but then again you are driving around that POS D2. i am guessing you have already checked them. my fuses have blown several times leaving either the left or right side out. |

Thanks man, I'll check it again. Sucks not having a shop manual. Heading out to a wrench fest today. Spring seats and electrical on the D2, rear springs on a D90, repairing a weld on VW GTI header pipe and polishing off a couple 40's. |
