what octane rating do you guys use? does putting the 94 stuff in make a difference? is it bad to use the 87 and 89 ratings? |

Its ok to run 87 or 89 in a EI car . The ECM will only advance the timeing untill the knock sensor detects spark knock , then the timing is retarded. If for some reason you need more advance run higher octane. |

My buddy, an SAE certified master mechanic, said because it recommends premium to run premium every 4th tank and regular the rest. Says it helps clean out carbon and such. No obvious advantages other than in the long run, i believe. |
