D1, Rubber part of left rear Mud Flap hanging by a thread. Kinda goofey to have to take that whole Mud Flap assembly off, via the rear compartment lower trim panel, just to replace that rubber piece. The rubber is held on by these weird, rounded fasteners, possibly large rivets. I may just drill those out and cut store-bought rubber flap to size. Any suggestions or experiances? |

I say rip them all off and start enjoying an extra 8 mpg.... but yeah if you want to replace them drill the rivets out and attach the new flaps on w/ standard bolts. |

nothing will really help you save much fuel, you could drive like a grand-ma and always use cruise control on the interstate...or buy a kia rio, they are only 8k for the qaulity korean car and you get real good gas mileage. but they brake more then rovers. |

8 MPG ? Nah. What I might do is to remove them, then remount them in front of the tires. This will improve aerodynamics. Thanks, guys, for getting my creative juices flowing! |

There are some unconfirmed reports that removing them will allow the truck to run on diesel thus saving even more fuel.... |
