The red "parking brake light" on my dash keeps flickering/staying on, etc... i'm supposing this is a bad sign? Any remedies or recommendations as to what is the cause? It's a 98 Disco I...

Rick has it pegged, if the light "flickers", the fluid is low and sloshing a bit...

Could also be a bad master cylinder cap. I had that happen on my DII.

I had the same issue and posted a similar thread about 2 weeks ago. Everyone said it was the brake fluid. Everyone was right.
Ahhhhh, the power of Discoweb.

I had the same problem the day it came back from the dealer service....
Turns out the rear brake pad 'wear indicator' wire had been broken and was now earthing on the chasis.
Worth a check.

Check your pads while your at it, sometimes the wear indicators make the light come on.

Wow....I was just going to post for the same thing....a blinking brake light on the dash...Now, my fluid level looks OK, but the fluid itself is brown...should I change it?

Every two years/30k miles is a good rule of thumb on brake fluid. Also, it's in the owners manual under MAINTENANCE
