I found an intresting bit from the NY auto show about the g4 Discovery that they will be selling in the US? http://www.trucktrend.com/autoshows/coverage/112_03as_ny/index.html#2 Sounds as if the CDL, a paintjob, roof rack and change in interior will be the major changes to this compared to a standard Disco. I heard about that in the LR chronical, I hope they do it. Don't know about that orange though... I was just looking at the D2 and Freebie on that page, wouldn't you pay $9k more and get this disco? |

I would, if I was getting a new one anyway... Too bad they aren't making enough of them to know that Americans really want the CDL. It just occured to me... so we can't even special order a transmission with a CDL here in the states because of all the problems with certification etc... well, not anymore. When this edition comes out, even though there will only be a limited number of them, there will effectively no longer be any reason why an American could not order the G4 edition transmission from the dealer - they are certified now! Sure it might take some work, but I bet you could do it now. |

yeah but given the fact that they won't sell you a black hood sticker with out giving them a Kalahari vin# and shit like that I doubt it will be as easy as calling them up and ordering it... But I could be wrong. |

the transmission is no different than any other 03 Disco. The transfer case might be what your looking for.. |

Ya, but from what we heard in other threads, unless I am mistaken, is that the mount to the transmission is different. And like Carter said, LR gets all up tight about numbers in their computers not matching up etc... |
