I am from Australia and need advice on my disco, my mates are all useless in this area as they drive toyotas and nissans. I have just purchsed a set of Rancho 5000's wth coils which will give me a lift of 40mm..just shy of 2 inches. i wish to fit a larger tyre ive seen a few guys saying they had 235/86 or 235/85 on the stocka rims. i also read in the tech section that i can get away with not trimming the fenders buy spacing them and actually "shoving" the fender out about 1 1/2 inches. has anyone tried this? i really dont want to slice my car up at all.. the missus would NOT be impressed |

Hi Todd I have 235/85 MTR`s and chopped the rear arch, you would never notice. You can remove the lower bolt and insert a flat bar to push out the panel but I think this looks a bit silly. Be prepared for lots of corrosion in that area. My biggest problem with my missus was not that I cut my truck, but she finds it difficult to get in and out, it gets a bit higher with the 235/85`s. Best of luck Pete S |

cheers. i think i will go with spacing the fender first cause my missus is adamant that i dont. but i think she will turn. what do you mean by corrosion? does sand and mud build up more in that area? i will try it, but i guess it will all come down to wether or not it is a pain. thanks for your advice |

Hi Todd Where the mudguard panel fixes to the lower wing, is where all my corrosion is, I gave up and cut a bit of 2mm Aluminium chequer plate over the length of the lower panel. Doesn`t look too bad! Pete S. |
