I just picked up a set of 18" Hurricanes that need some cosmetic work. One of the wheels has some curb rash along part of the rim and another has a few small nicks. These are powder coated aluminum wheels with a clearcoat finish. I'm satisfied with the price I paid and factored in the likelihood that some cosmetic work was necessary in order to bring them up to my standards. Has anyone out there ever had a wheel refinished? Is there a method for smoothing down the curb rash? What's the typical cost of powder coating and a clear coat?
