I posted this question awhile ago and never got an answer. I'm looking to buy a Disco I winch tray and I need to make sure it will fit my 95 Classic. It is my understanding that the frames are the same upfront. Is this true? Also, are the crush cans in the same position? I would think they have to be very similar. If anyone could help me out I'd appreciate it.

the frame is the same in the front, thats all i can say. i have swaped bumpers from car to car and they bolt right up, aside for the bumper end caps hitting the fenders.

the disco nose bulges out more so on a rangie this thing might really stick out. puke ugly.

someone sells the hidden winch mount for a range rover, that is actually pretty nice for the money. it will tuck a winch right up under the stock range rover bumper. i think it was ramsey that made it , but also a vlible from DAP-inc.com (bearmach supplier)

Thanks for your input. JE Robison says it probably won't work. I wonder why LR never made a winch kit for the classic. They have made one for every other model other than the .

You can get one from Bearmach for $175. It's a hidden winch mount.

Ian,

Land Rover did make a winch mount for the Range Rover Classics. I have only seen one of them. It looks like a normal LR brush guard, but it has a winch tray in the center right above the bumper. I don't know how strong it really is, but it looked like a nice setup. I honestley don't know where you could find one, I have never seen any advertised for sale before.

The only winch mount LR ever made that I'm aware of is the great divide one. Where did you see this setup Will? I would think rangerovers.net would mention something about it in the page about winch mounts. He covers all the other setups. In anycase I think I'll just save up and get an ARB. I'm not crazy about getting a non-airbag bumper though. From what I understand the hidden mounts don't let you see the drum at all. Does anyone have one and like it? Limiting myself to an 8,000 pd winch isn't great either.

the Air bag bumpers are chunky. i wouldn't worry about the non airbag ones. if anything it allows the system to trigger a little early, but those crush cans are very week and bend offroad.
