I am contemplating getting a roof rack for my D1. I am probably going to get an ARB rack, but I am worried it will get in the way of my rear sunroof. Can anyone shed some light on which roof racks wouldn't cause a problem for my sun roof?

Take care,
Alex

The Safety Devices' Adventure Rack comes in two versions, a low one and a high one to clear sunroofs. David at TRG can get 'em for you. He's the official S.D. distributor for the US... let him know you want a high one, and he'll get you what you need.

Alex, I have a Td5 ES spec vehicle and the Hannibal roofrack does comply. Have a look at www.yenzatours.com

les, i've done business with David and he is a nice guy, but you keep insinuating that he is "THE" official
safety devises guy, this is misleading. furthermore when i asked him to order me something from safety
devices he said it was not available. i called stable energies and they had me the parts in two weeks.

there are a few people who can import safety devices racks, David is one of them and most likely the
cheapest, but not the "only" one or the "official" anything.

Alex,

While I'm a big fan of the ARB rack, be prepared to do some legwork. ARB stopped importing them a few months ago, even leaving a few customers who were waiting high and dry. So basically, what's here is here and that's about about it.

If you're serious about the ARB rack, drop me a line offline though. I have a line on ONE ARB rack (48" x 48" w/ a DII/RRC mounting kit).

Thanks,
Nathan Hindman

There is somebody who claims to still be importing the racks somehow, but I can't remember who. See what a search (of this board) turns up.

Alex
The ARB can be raised to accomodate the rear sunroof. I had to wait a long time for my rack to get in. Well worth it if you can get one.
