what kind of parts should i replace for a 30k tune up? spark plugs, air filter, fuel filter? what else? i still have the problem where my car shakes as if it's not getting enough fuel to the engine. Also, what weight Oil should i use?

The schecule below is for a 4.0 Disco I, but the service schedule is similar for a 3.9 as well if you have a 94 or 95. The only thing I would suggest is that you change the transmission filter at 30K and sucessive intervals of 60K miles (LR only suggests 30K with no future changes).

add wires in your list and change to synthetic oil, 10w30 for summer (mobil 1 is what i use) a decent oil filter and you're good to go. (bad wires could definitely be causing your stutter/shaking)

Robbie: the stuttering and shaking is only when my foots on the gas or when i'm sometimes idleing could the wires still be causing this?

yeah, when i first got my truck the idle was a little rough and when i got up to speed (most pronounced when the torque converter locked up) it felt like the truck was actually off balance and shaking all around. a couple weeks later i did my first tune up, changing out plugs and wires. Two of the wires on the left bank just came apart in my hand. new wires and plugs and purring like a kitten and smooth as a baby's ass. bad wires were not so bad to really misfire, but under load they were, which caused the stumble/stutter feeling. hell, might not be your issue, but it was mine.

About the Trans filter at 30k.... is there any way to tell if it was changed? if not is it easy to change? Should I just wait until they do the fluid change and get them to do it then?

There isn't any way to tell if it was changed, other than by checking the service history at the Land Rover dealership were it was (assumedly) maintained while still under warranty...

Usually all that a dealer can access is the service for that particular dealership or network in some cases.

ie Here in Denver I can pull up the service history for my Discovery and it should tell me all the service that was done at Denver East, Denver South, Aspen (now closed) and Pioneer San Diego, CA since they're all under the same ownership. But it won't tell me squat about what was done at the Boulder CO dealership since they're a different franchisee...

Thanks,
