I've searched here and disco2owners, I can't find that "quick fix" when both the inside and outside handles won't open the rear hatch. Anyone? |

I hit the outside latch with my palm real hard. Works great. Pain in the hand. |

Does it happen when you try and open it when its locked? I get it every time I do, usualy a good hit Like Erik suggested works. Last time I had to go to the dealer, the bastard just wouldn't open. -Chris |

I had the same problem. I had to replace the hole system. |

Took the left rear tail light out, removed it from the pigtail. Took a hard rubber hammer, hit the inside panel area next to the latch about five or six times, not too hard but a solid wrap. The latch then caught, door opened up.
