Which Hella 4k's are people using? (Euro, pencil, fog or cornering). Especially interested in setups of only 1 pair mounted on a bumper.
Did anyone use the fog light wires or is this asking for trouble and should one buy the harness?

Alternatively, how about pro-comps. I heard they have a

I just have a pair of driving (Euro?) on my LR brush bar. They really light up the trail. You should use a harness with relay. The fogs are like 20-30 watts. The 4000's are 100 watts, you may burn up the wires.

I have a pair of Euro beam pattern 4Ks on my bumper.

The amount of light these put out is simply amazing. Focused in the middle, then more diffuse towards the perimeter.

On both rovers I run a euro beam on the left side and a corning beam on the right. Great for spotting deer and other animals a long way off. Not bad off road at night either.

Definitely use an uprated relay/harness. Wire them to a SPDT and get always on or on with other switched power sources (main, parking, etc.)

Stock fog light harness can handle 55W- 4000's are 100. The only hellas compatible with the factory relays are the 500's. I'm looking to add some 4k's soon.

I have my relay wired to only come on with my hi beams. When I go from the 4000's and hi's to just lows. I feel like I'm driving by candle light.

The light is too big for the LR brush bar and A-frame.

They fit my LR brush bar extremely tight, but they do fit. At first, I thought it would not work, but I was able to get them in and adjust them properly. They will rub.

I have H4000s Euros on my brush bar. I have plenty of room. No rubbing.

Thanks for the responses. I've heard that the Euro's are a bit too focused for trail work and that Cornering lights might be a better option. Opinions?
Oh, an in regards to wiring, whats a "SPDT"?

Single Pole/Double Throw. Here is a good switch that fits the binacle pod nicely:

SPDT switch

Good wiring info here: http://catalog.com/susq/other/harness.htm

Hmmm, seems like I just posted this stuff the other day....

This past weekend, I got to ride behind Mr. Morgan for some "night ops", he's got four H4Ks on his rack up top: 2 euros center and 2 cornering, aimed out. Awesome from behind at night....just this long, flat line of light, sweeping 180 degrees from driver left to driver right out from the truck.

I'm running 2 cornering lamps on my brush bar and 4 euros on the roof rack. If I were to do it over, I'd probably put fogs on the front and then have 2 cornering beams on the outer edges of the rack and 2 euros in the middle.

FYI - I got lenses with city lights from Steve Sherman for my existing 4k's. I wired the city lights to come on with the city light (glow bulb) in the main lamps of my D2. So when I don't have them fully powered up, they still have a nice glow. Nothing functional, but cool. I think you can buy them new that way from susquehana motor spots for the same price.
