NAPA part# 2-1738 AC Delco part# 25527077 PepBoys: BorgWarner #21738 One of those should work. I think I ended up cross-referencing the Napa number to the Auto Zone number listed above. Imagine my glee when the part was 29.95, compared to the $175.00 the dealership wanted!!!! |

Andrew - I reckon that they can also cause starting problems because it must regulate the start up mixture given that you do not use the foot throttle at start up.....veee vill seeee...my 95 is at the dealer for diagnosis of start up problems and bad idle - bet its that and/or the Hot Wire Air Mass Sensor and works in unison with the stepper motor. |

I just took mine apart and cleaned all of the gunk out of it with carb cleaner. Reinstalled it and it works fine. Have you tried that yet? |

i have heard that the disco's are more finicky about using the alternative stepper motors. Range Rovers seem fine with them. you might have to go genuine. rd |

For $25 I would try it, if it were my money. |

I tried the Napa stepper motor on my '95 Disco. It didn't like it! Fault code came up and wouldn't go away. The check engine light also came on. Bought and installed a OEM part, problem solved. Good Luck |

I've been running a NAPA stepper motor for a few weeks. While it did not correct anything, it didn't make it any worse. No codes, either. |
