So, this is one I have never seen. ( nor has carter for that matter) I put my headlight switch on the parking lite mode, and the interior lits come one behind the instrument cluster, behind the speedo/tach and the clock dims, like its all normal. Then I put the switch to the full headlite mode and all those interior lites go off WTF, Over? |

I would suspect that your turn signal stalk assembly is bad. It may not be making full contact in the headlight on possition. If you have another disco close by swap turn signals and see if that fixes the problem. It's not very hard to change those things out. Dan |

I agree with Dan, those switches go bad really easy, I had to replace mine just last month. Not a hard thing to do at all. Found it on Motorcars LMT for $100 bucks |

I changed mine 2 weeks ago. I had a fried switch (fried like burning smell and scorched connector)Easy job. It is the whole assembly. Find someone who is parting out. I got mine for 50 bucks (170 at AB!) Turn the wheel 90 degrees to the left, take off the steering column covers (3 screws) remove the 2 screws that hold in the switch and give a sharp tug on the turn signal toward the driver's door (Or use a screwdriver to pry) Take off the connectors and replace the switch. 10 min if you don't know what you are doing. 5 if you do. OR Take off the switch as mentioned above and lube it up with dielectric grease. Re-install the switch and try it out. I just did this yesterday and it fixed my problem. I would try this first if you switch isn't burned like mine was. $5.00 and it will be all fixed. REMEMBER>>>>If you don't have dash lights, you don't have tail lights either! Use the rear fogs! I drove around for 3 weeks without knowing this! |
