Glad you found the humor John. Hey did you get the speedy Pro? Show us a pic. If you want to be true to the speedy make sure to get rid of the bracelet and put it on a NATO strap, just like the flyboys did. Your family will be thrown for a loop as to why youd put such a watch on a nylon strap. I have an extra which Ill be sure to give to you the next time I see you. Enjoy the pics and check out this site I frequent. Careful the watch bug is almost addictive tweaking ones Rover. http://www.broadarrow.net/ pics of a speedy on a NATO strap: http://206.67.55.7/cgibin/px.pl?read=10696

Yeah, I got the Speedpro a few days ago: http://expeditionexchange.com/omega/DSC04953.jpg http://expeditionexchange.com/omega/DSC04905.jpg http://expeditionexchange.com/omega/DSC05055.jpg http://expeditionexchange.com/omega/DSC04938.jpg It's the model 3570.50.00, the one with the steel caseback, plastic crystal, and steel bracelet. The bracelet is sort of a mix between the Rolex Oyster and Jubilee bracelets. Sorry Neil, but I think your history is off there regarding those nylon straps. Those "NATO" straps aren't true to the Speedpro at all and make the Speedpro look hideous. The NASA Astronauts used very large velcro bands, not nylon military bands. The velcro bands looked like this: http://www.omega.ch/lux-example/img/communs/company/Astronaut/homolgation.jpg This has always been the case and was so from the time Edward White did his historic space walk with his Speedmaster during Gemini IV: http://expeditionexchange.com/omega/spacewalk.jpg to the eight-day space mission on Gemini V: http://expeditionexchange.com/omega/s65-28740.jpg to the Apollo XI mission on the Moon: http://www.spaceflight.nasa.gov/gallery/images/apollo/apollo11/hires/as11_36_539 0.jpg http://www.spaceflight.nasa.gov/gallery/images/apollo/apollo11/hires/as11_40_590 3.jpg To final Moon mission during Apollo XVII: http://www.spaceflight.nasa.gov/gallery/images/apollo/apollo17/hires/as17-134-20 380.jpg and all the way to the current day: http://expeditionexchange.com/omega/loria.jpg While the NASA mission has changed, the Speedmaster Professional and its very long velcro band have not. They are constants in an ever-changing world.
