I had a heater hose leak spray hot coolant in engine compartment. I am finding almost impossible to get crystalline residue off of plenum and other parts. Anybody have a trick?

Carb cleaner will eat that right up :-)

I had a very similar issue, coolant hose had a pin sized hole in it, covered my engine compartment. When I took the ram housing and plenum cover off to remove the fuel injectors, I cleaned it with a thorough dose of carb cleaner, and it looks like new again.

$0.79 at your local parts store. Wear gloves
