I let my wife drive the truck out of town this weekend and she comes back today with the hood looking like a close-up of the f@#*ing moon. Also got the both drivers side doors and one on the front of the roof. Thank goodness for the roofrack decking. I have not called my insurance agent yet but should I go to a body shop or paintless dent repair place? I have never had to deal with hail damage before. I know some parts are aluminum, does this make a difference in repairs? I have had experience with a vehicle wrecked in the front and the paint looks great when it leaves the shop but it is not near as durable as the factory job. Anyone have any advice (other than ditching the wife)?

How bad of a moonscape do you have? Hail damage is usually extensive, so I guess its an insurance job.

Brad,

We had a hail storm in NJ several weeks ago. My Disco managed to survive unscathed, but many of the local dealerships had their car lots trashed. They were fixing the cars with paintless dent removal. I'm not sure if the same process can be used with aluminum panels, but give them a call. Actually, if you drive down Rt 22 in NJ many of the dealerships and body shops are advertising "Hail Damage Removal"...

Good luck,
-ema

Brad:
Immediately contact your insurance company. It will be covered under your comprehensive part of your policy.

Peace,
Paul
