Has anyboy siliconed (or glued) the D shaped plastic drive doo-hickey to the VSS sensor? I carfully install it then shortly after it becomes disengaged. I am going to get a ticket one of these days! Honestly office, My speedometer didn't say I was speeding, Darn British electrics. |

I have never had that come apart, and we have replaced more than 100. I think your part is defective or damaged |

I matched old with new when I installed it and it came from Nathan who is generally reliable. It is like the cylinder in the sensor has to much lateral play and slips off the drive shaft. Maybe I installed it wrong the first time and broke something or it is defective. I took it off, lined up the parts very carefully and the speedometer worked up to about 10 mph and then quit again, like it is becoming disengaged. Maybe I'll try a little goop, beats buying another one.

Does the spedo even work off the VSS? I had a busted VSS (I think) and the spedo worked fine... I was under the impression that the VVS just tells the computer how fast the car is going not the spedo? |
