I have a 96 MY disco and when I had it out on the highway yesterday, the thing would start stuttering when I reached a speed of 80 KM or 50mph. Anything below it was fine but anything above, like I said it would stutter. The engine lights did not come on.

Any insight would be great.

Chris

Chris-sounds like a vehicle speed sensor. Costs about $90 and is mounted in the transfer case, simple fix, or so I'm told.

It wasn't raining but it has been damp here lately. I used it yesterday for the first time in a couple of days. I was thinking that I may have had water in the gas or something blocking the filter or whatever, but then I thought that I would have problems at any speed. I am thinking that maybe I should take my pet rover out for some more exercise and see if it is still there. Things tend to happen to my truck and never happen again. I just dismiss it bc it british.
Thanks

Chris

I had the same thing at one point and it turned out to be a combination of plug wires and the vacum line on the fuel injection pressure regulator.

Buy a bottle of Chevron Techron and use it as directed. I tried everything else first, spent about $200 to fix my stuttering, and the $10.00 bottle of the Chevron stuff did the trick (for about 3K miles, I need to do it again).
