Has anyone ever had one of these go bad?

If so how hard is it to change out.

Thanks
Jim

Where are the vacuum lines located?... I haven't had a chance to pick up a shop manual yet. The cruise on my '94 doesn't work either.

Thanks,
EM

James, FWIW, I've had to replace the vacuum pump itself on my '96 and now on my wife's '99. I guess that switch could go bad but I would lean more toward the vacuum pump just b/c of my replacing two thus far. Later.. RS

I also have a 95' Disco and lost the cruise control after the brake light switch was fixed. After loosing the cruise control I traced the vacuum lines, because I heard they are almost always the culprit and found near the brake switch a dangling unattached vacuum line. I'm sure this is the problem, but where does it connect? I can't see where under there (alot of wires)! Can anyone advise me here as well? Might be the other James' problem as well.

James, the c.c. vacuum pump is behind your drivers side headlight, just follow the vacuum lines:-)

James Jimbo go up the brake pedal and look for a switch mounted on the front of the bracket for the brake pedal. Its about half way up, there is a spot for the vacum line to go into and and electrical connection for the cruise as well. It would be very easy for someone to accidently disconnect this while fixing brake light switch.
