I have a 2003 SE & opted out of putting in the jumps seats at time of purchase - salesman said we could put them in later, which I want to do now... However, I heard from another dealership that the only way to get those jump seats in the 2003s is to order the truck with them - they are not sold as "parts." Who's right?
PS - he's pricing them at $1000 w/installation.
Thoughts?

As fas as I know, those are Factory Installed Options, unlike on the D1s which can be done by the dealer. I think the second dealer is right. However, give your dealer the benefit of the doubt by asking him exactly what jump seats are these. If they're the genuine one and they can put them for $1000, I think it's a good price considering all the mods they have to do with the headliner and all! Goodluck!

I agree with glenn. I was told by the dealer that LR would not add them to a non-equiped disco... Stating liability issues... Don't know if it is really LR policy or just typical dealer BS. I'm sure if they did, it would be farmed out anyhow.

Eric

I was also told that they were factory installed only and not at the dealer, but I am not saying that they can not be installed later of course. You see them on Ebay from time to time!

Thanks for replies!
By the way, the dealer is a "factory" dealership - perhaps they are capable in this case - I'll post the result... PS - awesome site - this is my 1st LR, in fact my 1st vehicle! (it was a long-standing dream!) nice to find a resource like this.
