Mike

actually, no real tools needed

first take down the headliner thingy with the cubby holes. Its a few screws. Then this will give you access to the wires.

The mirror slides onto the mount, but I think if you yank hard enough, it will come off.

once you have it off, you need to trace th ewisres back to the small plug. Mine was stuck way the hell back in the headliner.. I used my wifes small hands to unnattach the plug, and re-attach the new plug wires. Then you just need to get the new mirror on the windshield mount. Slide it on from the bottom pushing it upwards. It will be obviouse when it gets in place.

make sure electrics are working, and replace headliner

Your golden.

donnely makes the mirror too, not sure what info they have on thier site but i couldnt find the link

Good to know. Went skiing this winter and on the drive home heard a loud crack. Liquid bubbles started floating to the top. It must have frozen and then thawed to quickly. Only thing I could figure. I didn't want to replace mine until summer came. It has...

Yeh dan...I had the same thing from a change in altitude from newmexico, through denver, and up over on eof the passes. then the mirror started to leak.

what I did , was call donnely direct. The of course said at first that i needed to go to LR and deal with it, but I told them LR told m it was thier product and it was thier thing to fix.

They offered me a new mirror at no charge and i sent the other one back. It took some persistance ( after I told them it leaked all over my dashboard) but eventually I talked to the rite guy who helped.

give it a try, those fuckers are expencive if you wanna replacement

My 97 disco's rear view mirror also cracked inside and have bubbles, with liquid settling half way down. This is the first I have heard of Donnely Direct. Do you think they would replace mine also if I put up a stink?

Well they better replace the product...infact they are the ones whos manufacturing went wrong and that is why you need a new one. Just tell them flat out, you went through LR and they said they couldnt help you, because its not a LR part.

It cant hurt to try you know...It worked for me, and its a easy fix. what a pain in the ass it is having a half dimming mirror you know?
