New disco owner - proper maintenance?

As a new owner of a '96 Disco with 116k miles, I'm wondering what kind of maintenance I should undertake on a regular basis to ensure I have this machine for a long time. What should I check weekly, at fill-ups, monthly, etc.? I'm planning on taking it in for a service in the next month, but until then, what should I keep my eye on?
