today i put on some new hd track rods and ball joints on my d1. I left the dampner off because i figured that the hd rods would dampen. i talked to some others and they said that they might. ill be testing mine in mexico next week. anyway i am wondering what others have experienced? i drove it today all around..went out on some ranch land behind my house and flexed the truck a bit and it handled really nice. no vibes on the freeway and nothing different on the trail expcept a bit stiffer, probably the new ball joints. anyway would really like to here some feed back. cheers |

I have not run woth a dampner in over a year. Even with 265.75 no problems. I will however install one soon. |

I don't see how one would expect a larger heavier tie rod to dampen dynamic vibrations. There is just more there to vibrate. I have a rockware tube and a brand new OME damapener to install later today if I can find some stock lying around the shop to make the relocation |

yeah - a tie rod will not 'replace' a steering stabilizer. improvement you feel must be the newer, stiffer ball joints... give them a lil time, they will loosen. i run without, but as the tire size has gotten bigger, the motivation to make my relo bracket for the stabilzer has increased. lol.

You can still bend them. I had SafariGard tie-rods. When I came back from Belize, I found that I had bent one, not bad enough to notice though. I sent it to them and they said they would send a replacement out. That was two years ago. I'm still waiting for it. Guess it's RoverTym. |

Luis: My Rockware tube is bent as well, not as badly as the stock one, but bent all the same. Nothin's perfect, eh? Peace, Paul |
