I'm in a bit of a tire situation. The stock Michelin XPC's on my D1 are shot and need to be replaced immediately. I understand the implications (tire rubbing) of installing 235/85/16's on a stock disco but due to financial reasons cannot afford an entire new set of tires and can refit the newish (only 2000 miles) 235/85/16 Dunlop Radial Rover R/T's that are on my Series IIa to the Disco for my upcoming drive cross-country. My question is, will this work with only trimming the rear fenders and adjusting the steering stops without previously installing a suspension upgrade like HD OME's? When money permits, I can replace the stock coils (which are not sagging at his point-still seems to be in fairly good condition). However, right now the tires take priority over suspension. I understand that I will not be able to do any offroading until longer springs are installed but will the trimmed and adjusted truck with 235's make a long, flat highway trip without any problems? Thanks, Ethan Makarowski PS: What are the numbers of the OME coils and shocks for the 3" lift? I found 751 fronts and 762 rears (haven't been able to find the accompanying shock numbers yet). I just wanted to double check and see if this info was correct. Also, what are some of the more affordable places to purchase these suspension components when I do start getting a pay check again? Thanks again |
