My Disco I rear cargo door requires adjustment. When closing, the door raises slightly when it engages the latch and drops when the door is unlatched. Should I adjust the latch pin or the hinges? If I adjust the hinges do I move the hinges where they attach to the jam or to the door? |

I had to fix my recently. So here goes my story. Make sure that the ribits are intact (my came off). There is a modified latch assembly sold at the dealer depending on what year you have. I had to locktight my because they rattle loose. The bolt on the inside bottom left hand corner set the door flush top and bottom when the door is closed. When all bolts and screws & latch assembly tighten down, you still might have to expertly adjust door. I've seen LR mechanics use a 2x4 with the door almost closed slight pressure the latches to final fit. BE CAREFUL. I've haven't had any problems since. Hope this helps! |

yeah, i had a lil adjusting to do as well last weekend.. seems i encountered a little bump somewhere along my sunday drive and ended up with a rear door that rubbed severely against the rear-most body sill. so we cut off the rear body mounts, and after the body settled, used a 2x4 and a 12lb sledge to level the rear box sill so that the door would once again open properly. I'm sure that's not the way the dealer used their 2x4, but it worked for me... now to reweld those body mounts.... heheheh
