Only $60,000, I'll take two please. Sorry, but thats one ugly ass vehicle. I don't think a bling bling rapper would even be caught in it. Should rename it "LaFuglyPieceOfCrap".

No Bob, geo tracker looks much better :-)

If they think they are going to sell that POS for $60,000 they are nuts, or the buyer is on crack. What have they been smoking at bvlandrovers.

I passed a Laforza on the road yesterday. The stock Laforzas don't look too bad, but that pimp daddy laforza is butt-ugly. Looks like a riced-out Ford F-150 from the front. Just the look I want to achieve for 60k....

I saw a local guy selling a 1999 Range Rover so I stopped to take a look at it. No one was around so I started checking the Rover out and saw he had a not describing the vehicle and a price of $66K on it. I shit my pants. Some people.

BVLR has quite a nice website and what looks like a generous supply of quality pre-owned Rovers. What I find more amazing is they advertise a house to stay in when you fly in to pick up a truck. Anyone else notice that? Generally you are lucky if you get a free key fob from a dealer.

I have wanted to buy a Rover from them for a while. I have yet to hear anything bad about them, which is pretty cool.

I have been checking their rover's out too, their prices for Range Rovers are high, even higher than my local dealer, Disco prices are fair though, but somebody's got to pay for that huge house.

Just add Chapman's homemade catcher's mask and it's a trail ready rig. I would like to see his H1 though. Those do have badass grille guards.

BVLR does have some pretty nice stock but they are a bit overpriced. I went there (I'm local) when I was in the market for my LWB and they were nice until decided to entertain the idea of trading in my GTI. They offered me 1/3 of what I ended up selling my GTI for. I know they aren't in the used VW business but I was a little miffed. I told him he had a deal if he would knock off $4000 on the LWB I was looking at. He didn't budge.

He said the reason he had to lowball the GTI was that I had "altered the suspension" and it couldn't be sold that way. (it was lowered with H&R coilovers) He didn't like it when I asked him why the '95 LWB I was shopping didn't have air springs and why that wasn't considered "altered". Overall they have a nice shop but I think you can still find good 1st or 2nd owner Rovers pretty easily.

I have seen these in person and they are complete p38 rip offs. The deprecation on them is even worse than the actual 4.0 Rovers (as if that was even possible). The powertain is all american so umm watchout. They can be spoted on ebay once in a while.

the original laforza was designed by thomas tjaarda who also helped pen the pantera (hardly a "p38 ripoff"), and is built by pininfarina. the truck sits on a military spec chassis, and is reported to be the only consumer vehicle that has ever passed the US government's barrier crash test.

the primary market for the laforza was for light military duty, police, and other public service work, with most being supplied in their native italy with an alfa romeo 6.

in the states they are shipped over minus the drive train and then repowered with a ford 5.0/AOD, and fitted with the walnut and leather trim to appeal as an americanized "luxury SUV".

essentially it is the italian equivalent to defender. going to bash the LM002, next? only in america can we find such arrogant stupidity. warn me when you guys travel so I can avoid being seen in the same country for a little while.

i heard they are _built_ in Escondido, California.

Coolerthanyou, LM002 is a great vehicle, but it is fucking ugly, too. Even worse than Laforza.

Not everything made by Pininfarina is necessarily the greatest work of art.

Check this site - http://www.laforza.com/specs.html

So it's a Ford Explorer in Pininfarina-designed skin (which is uglier than Explorer's), and random scattered instruments and stereo that looks as at home as in a 1947 Willys pickup.

Guess that's where the info about 35mph barrier crash came from, too.

could be there mostly assembled there? who knows - i imagine whatever shell company they erected over here to import them had less expensive labor rates than pininfarina.

i kind of like both I suppose - I always thought with the ford drive train, an older laforza would make a fairly good platform for a trail rig, and would be easy to keep running.

don't get me started on art - how is it a rangie is featured in the museum of modern art again?

you guys have become sensitive since i've been away ;)

edit: the crash barrier stuff is regurgitated in a lot of different literature on laforza. there isn't too much out there.

have you checked the website?

it has everything but the skin from an Explorer.
and it is assembled in California. What exactly makes it an italian work of art? and what makes it a good trail rig? Approach angle that's worse than departure angle?

you know whats funny about laforza. they just cant decide what kind of vehicle they want to bite off of. it resembles a range rover sort of it has gm four wheel drive selectors and gm motor. nasty dash design with as stated previously "pep boys wheel covers" i did an oil change on one about two months ago that was sporting the same nasty ugly wheels but had old school ford parts. the motor looked like it came out of an old 89 f-150 it had horrible looking ifs and was just as fugly as this one.
