is that how trailer queens are born? i sure hope not. :-)

i just lost the brakes while on a hilly part of the trail. that's all. LOL

fucking panhard rod mounting bolt/plate thing was rubbing eating thru the damn brake hose. if any of you have aftermarket brakehoses, check to see that it's not touching anything.

Ho, does the same apply to EE hoses?

where was it? I didn't see any off-road-going land rover in two days at Big Bear.

I put a short length of rubber hose, secured with safety wire, over my Paragon Performance lines where I thought they would rub. That was a few years ago, and I haven't had to touch them yet. I needed it on the left front where Ho was talking about, and on both rear lines.

My front left apparently had been gently rubbing on my tire without my noticing until I stuck on the trXus M/Ts. It was very obvious it was rubbing on the way home and I quickly thought I solved the problem. However, ended up losing that brake line anyhow I'm guessing since it had been weakened from the rubbing on the short drive home over a month before, that was the only thing I could imagine happened. Anyhow, do as Ho says.. check your lines to make sure they aren't rubbing anything, especially at full lock right or left. I now carry spares as well as extra fluid.. it sucked driving home without brakes:-) (3 miles from the gas station late at night at 10mph)

When you lose the brakes like that does the e-brake stop working also? Or are they seperate systems?

The e-brake works, well in my experence of the dealer cutting my lines, the brake pedal went to the floor and i only had the e-brake.

The e-brake is a cable actuated drum brake around the rear drive shaft. Thus, if you bust a brake line, you are still good with the e-brake.
