Has anyone tried to replace the original rover motor with an American V8? I'm thinking of trying it and want to know if anyone else has tried it. |

Its been done, Marks Adapter in Oz sells the adapter...my opinion is that you are better off getting a larger displacement rover engine than dealing with the hassles of modifying your truck to accomodate a 350 or similar. |

But will a GM V8 mount to a LR transmission? I have heard that the 4.0L is actually a old Buick/Olds motor and I have thought about using one of those, just modified for more horsepower. |

I hear there is an adapter but if I was doing it I would just go with a 4.6 |

I think the 3.9 is the Buick block, not the 4.0... Are you wanting to put a GM V8 to the ZF4HP22 or the R380? http://www.marks4wd.com/ http://www.marks4wd.com/rangeroverindex.html http://www.marks4wd.com/RR-Chevy-V6-V8.html |
