I want to lift my 96 D1, I plan on OME components to do this. Putting HD springs up front and medium heavy in the rear. To anyone who has done this, Did you have to extend the ABS wiring? I intend to install longer brake lines, but as far as the ABS wires are concerned, I have not seen any one mention extending them on the D1.
A simple yes or no?

Unless you intend to run longer travel shocks, there is no need to install longer anything. The stock and even OME shocks will limit your travel making it unnecessary to run longer brake or ABS lines. If you think the rear lines are too tight after the install, release them from the bracket at the top of the rear diff.

Thanks for the info guys, I am only looking for about 2" of lift so I guess I don't have to worry about the ABS lines.

OME HD front & rear with OME NF45 front shock & OME NF46 rear shocks.
2" lift, stock brake lines and anti lock wires no prob. Still has comfortable nice ride on road.
Talk to John at EE.

On my 1995 Disco:

OME HD Springs F&R
OME N45 & N115
OME Damper
BFG MT 235/85/16 stock wheels.

I didn't think to measure the driveline parts, but I measured a few points of the body. In each area, the new parts/tires gained me a 4" body lift. Again, I do not know how much under the LR, for I didn't measure it. I like it, but it feels funny for I seem to fall out of the LR now. :-)

Can anyone do me a favor and measure the rear (bottom) tow hitch to the ground? I am curious on how mine compares to others. I think the 4" came due to the fact I had origional springs & shocks on the 106k mile LR. Anyways, mine is 21 3/4" from the bottom part of the hitch to the ground.

As far as comfort, the vehicle feels much better with the new stuff!

Mike
