Hey gang,

pulled the cover of the EAS box under the hood to inspect and satisfy my
curiosity. Seems there's a tiny filter/screen on the inlet to the pump.
Is there a service interval for replacing this filter? Given the flimsy
appearance of the part, has anyone tried to replace it with one of those
tiny K&N breather filters? From looking at it, seems that ought to be a
good fit.

Dust particles etc will probably be what kills the pump and the system as
a whole.. so, seems keeping them out in the first place ought to be a good
thing.

Also, ventilation is really non-existant inside that plastic box. Given
how hot it gets in that space, that seems like really poor placement.
Anyone have any thoughts on heat being an issue? I'll put a thermo probe
in there one of these days just to check.

Oh, this is on a '99 RR HSE.

Thanks,
Christian
