I am new on this board and hope to get some help about the SRS warning light of my Discovery. The light came on and stayed on. Took it to my local LR service, kept it for two days and told me the loose contact was the cause. Light came back on on the 5th day. This time LR service said it is the faulty SRS harness, quoting me $1500 to fix. What do you guys think? Charles |

Charles, Have you hade your battery replaced lately? or Disconnected? If so you have to take to a dealer or a mechanic specializing in LR. They typically can clear the code with thier diagnostics machine. A disconnected battery or battery chage will triger the SRS warning light. Where are you located? |

Andrew I believed I have battery disconnected lately (scheduled intermediate Service, cost me $2000+) The Authorized LR service dealer I went to first time to fix the problem kept the Disco for 2 days before they could clear the light. (problem cited: loose contact) $86 2nd time, when problem came back only after 5 days, the mechanic told me that the diagnosis indicates "fault airbag harness" and quoted $1500 fixing cost which I declined. I am in S. California, and have been using this dealer since I bought the car in 1996.
