Hey gang, does anyone know if our cars ECUs speak ISO-9141 or ISO-14230? In particular, a '99 onward P38A. Thanks, Christian

Does anyone have experience with ODBII stuff on the p38? I found this guy who has a connector and some software for sale through another web site, but Im afraid my '95 is only ODBI - how can I tell if it'll work? I asked the guy who sells it, will it work for my '95? He says "Yes, best to verify a obd2 16 pin female connector, next to center console under dash. Will use ISO protocol." How can you tell if its ODBI or ODBII? Anyone doing it? Is it possible to adapt the ODBI connector to ODBII if I do have ODBI. Puzzled but dyin' to mess with it, -seanA |

Sean, I've never seen an OBD -1 connector except the usual jumper this pin to that pin crap. If it's a 16 pin connector then you're set. My wife's '95 Legacy has a OBD - II connector but very little functionality. Still better than OBD1 IMHO. I guess some vehicle in mid '95 started to switch to OBD-II system so it's a hit or miss. |
