put a bigger engine in there. It is not made to be fast, just get used to it. Its fast enough for most. but oh boy, hahaha

Not Possible so quit trying. Go buy a car with power if that's what you want.

It is possible. Add a supercharger or do it right and go to a 4.6.
You can have whatever you want if you're willing to throw enough $ at it.

Buy a jeep, Damien. '98 JGC Limited with a 360 Dodge in it. You'll be stylin' like a brotha.

If your car hasn't had a tune-up in awhile, go do one.

Otherwise, consider an upgrade to a 4.6L engine or some kind of Tdi diesel conversion. East Coast Rover seems to do a fair number of these swaps.

If you don't spend much time off-road and are looking for strict on-road performance, a Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited 5.9L V8, BMW X5 4.4i, Mercedes ML55, or Infiniti FX45 should have some serious balls. The Jeep GC could probably serve double-duty as a trail rig.

Please don't take offense to the suggestions listed above. They are merely an opinion.

Come on Eugene,
You don't want to make a trail rig out of a GC. They're unibody and they flex way too much. I just sold a 93 GC that my wife drove. I took it off road once and had it flexed on a big rock. I hopped out to take a picture and couldn't get the door to shut right until I backed it off the rock onto more level ground. That GC was a POS from day one. It didn't hold up very well to daily driving. I can't imagine how bad it would have been pulling double duty as a trail rig.

Greg,

I agree that the Jeep GC is a POS. My '95 spent so much time in the shop for warranty work that I quickly sold it at 40,000 miles. It spent one summer without working AC because of evap/condensor problems. I won't even go into the number of engine, suspension and transmission parts that had to be replaced. Part of my Jeep's issues were caused by dealer incompetence (a Five-Star Chrysler dealer), but that car was not built well.

That being said, I know that some people feel that the Jeep GC is suitable for off-road use. So I was trying not to piss of the Jeep contingent.

Damien,

If you aint sprayin, you aint playin!

Give the disco a 100hp first kit and 75hp second. That should give you well over 300 wheel hp and at least 450ft/lbs.

As master Ho would say, just do it!

I believe the 4.0 and 4.6 blocks are identical, so you may be able to just swap your crank, rods & pistons for 4.6 parts and get your ECU reprogrammed so it won't run too lean and burn up.
