I searched for this topic and I couldn't find anything, but it has probably been brought up already so you'll have to forgive me. Sorry, I'm new around here.
Anyway, what's the deal on this synthetic fiber winch rope? I've heard that it's great stuff, but I dont see anyone using it. Am I missing something here? Good/bad?
Thanks, Mike

I got it (MasterPull), used it a few times already, no problems so far but I can see that without the right fairlead, it would be easy to fray it. It's not cheap, but it's very light weight, thus easy to work with.

It tends to get dirty like a pull strap, but I've taken to cleaning it with a light non-abrasive cleanser and water.

These guys sell a nice aluminium fairlead and the MasterPUll stuff: www.spidertrax.com

Amsteel-Blue advertises the optimistic "average strength rating" for their ropes...claiming 20,445 Lbs. for 3/8". The more useful "minimum strength rating" for their 3/8" line is really 18,401 Lbs.

www.masterpull.com sells Dynex rope. I went with
50ft. of 3/8" rope which has a minimum strength rating of 23,500 Lbs.
