Hi I have searched the archives on rear diff only to be faced with hundreds of threads, after two pages I concede defeat and am asking for help. I have a constant clank on take up and I have isolated it to the rear diff/roto flex coupling. I am running a 2" OME lift on 235/85 MTR`s. I know these things are shitty, but how do they sound when they are on the way out? If I change to a U/J, Will a RR classic rear propshaft fit? or will a disco one be better? I know I will need to replace the diff input flange. Are the rear axles the same, and do RR`s use the pinion bearing spacer that I need? Is this part number 539745? What is the central thread size on the locating peg in the centralising pin? Many thanks Pete S |

Yes, the drive shaft from an 88/89 rrc will fit, you do need the new flange on the diff side, and the spacer, rovers north sells the kit, i dont know is the axels are the same, but if you go to GBRs web site you will find out, and you can buy a complete rear diff in housing set up ready for action for 399.00 from him, I have an extra roto flex drive shaft for you cheap, Peter |

Thanks Peter But I will skip on your offer of the roto flex! The part I mentioned only cost $10, so I will change the prop first to a U/J and see if this improves before changing the whole diff. Thanks Pete S |
