I am not sure how the TC output flange comes off of the transfer case or if it will even work with a D1. I am having bad vibrations, what do I need to use a D2 front prop shaft and will it be better? Thanks, Dave |

Is it possible to use a D2 front driveshaft in a D1? Are the u joints better? Also, what is a good price for a used one? Thanks |

Hi Dave Yeah a D2 prop will fit but you will need to possibly change the output flange, depending on year. The D2 propshaft is a double cardan joint at one end and this reduces the severity of the angle, especially on big lifted trucks. Removing the flange is fairly easy, just remove the existing prop, and you will see a big nut, put it in gear, centre diff locked and in low and keep the rear wheels on the ground and take it off. I have a D2 prop on my 98 D1 and this was fairly easy job, reduced my constant light vibe, and saved me replacing a rapidly dying u/j. My prop cost me 50 (UK) from a breaker, but It looks brand new, as the breaker I use has the contract to dispose of all Land rovers rubbish. He was parting out two G4 110`s when I was over there last week. Best of luck Pete S |
