I have just bought a 99' RR with the Bosch 4.0 engine. Factory wanrranty is up in 2000 miles and lookin to get an extended warranty. Found a company called Auto Advantage that does bumper to bumper and claims work can be done by any shop or dealership and they will cover it. Has any one herd of this company, if so, should I go with them or look somewhere else?

I would caution you only on this. I have a 98 D1 and my warranty come does not want to replace my transfer case the dealer says is defective. They say it is from wear and tear, if it breaks they will see the part is defective but they can say wear and tear or that I did not keep the truck service enough. Oil has to be changed by the guidelines and you can't miss anything.

I researched this topic a great deal when I was looking for a good Extended Warranty.

It is in your best interest to purchase the extended warranty through Land Rover. No hassles and no worries. Just your $100 deductable.

I asked the same types of questions, you have, to people on this site as well as my local dealer's service dept. Along with the horror stories from both, my dealer and most of the people I talked too, recommended purchasing the warranty directly through Land Rover.

I am sure that there are plenty of folks that will agree with me. Just listen to Sean's message to you. He is having similar problems to most of the people who recommended me to stay away from warranties other than Land Rover's.

Good Luck

yeah, get the LR warranty. you'll need 30 days and 1,000 miles remaining on your factory warranty to qualify. i got mine through Alyssa (aparlin@alumni.wlu.edu) a month ago. easy as pie and i'm covered for 3 more years and 50K more miles!
if you dont go this route, set aside your money for your own little warranty fund. dont buy an aftermarket warranty because you'll void it with larger tires or something. good luck!

say you didn't purchase from a dealer and now that your warranty is almost up you wnat the Land Rover warranty. I was told you can only purchase it if you bought your truck from that dealer.

Auto Advantage specializes in providing warranty for Range Rovers. Kindly also visit:

www.robisonservice.com

I have been researching aftermarket warranties for a while as well. I got in touch with John at Robisonservice and found him to be very helpful and knowledgeable . They offer an easy care warranty which is very comprehensive. Email John and he can provide more direction. Are you happy with your 1999 Rover purchase, I am heavily debating between a 1999 Range Rover vs. 00-01 Discovery.
