All of the ones posted are good.

Post up what you are thinking of and I bet we can point you in the right direction.

I want to start using my rig as it was intended. So far, all I have done is camping and day trips where I return to the same sight each night. Those are great, but I would like to start taking it on expeditions. I was curious to see what modifications they deem necessary so I can have it all ready when I decide I have the time and money to do it.
I wantto start small, like close to home and no more than a week, and work my way up to the Mundo Mayan trip one of these years.
Thanks for all the help.

there are some journals of journeys that people took http://www.travelswithrover.com/ http://www.ihana.com/ and the newest one I saw http://www.northbyrover.com All of these trips give you good advice by reading their daily journal and finding out what they needed and didn't.

Hope it helps,
JK

Greg,

It truly depends on what 'expeditions' you plan to go on, the terrain, remoteness, etc...

You could always hook up with other dwebbers anywhere in the US for some wheeling.

I also suggest you look into these:

http://www.bb4wa.com

http://www.bordertoborder.com

If you have any specific questions, let me know.

There are a few official LR books out there that go into great detail on many things, expedition and off road check out atlantic british or rover north books.
I have a book called Sahara overland which i have been parousing, talks about a lot of good stuff although Africa Specific, it would an interesting
addition to anyones Library.
