The paint and rust warranty cover that exists in North America and most other areas of the world does not exist in Australia. In Oz we have to endure a low two years for all problems with our TDI series one. Aparently the series Two is covered for six years but only if the owner pays extra for a paint inspection during service visits to their landrover dealer. My 1998 disco has the familiar alpine window rust problem which I have repaired without incident.
